A Big Day for Children's Literature
Old Mother Frost Nominated for TCK Publishing 2021 Reader's Choice Award: Favourite Children's Book
Never in the history of TCK Publishing Reader Choice Awards has there been a Norse pagan holiday book nominated for 'Favourite Children's Book'. Could this be a turning point in children's literature?
Old Mother Frost by Jennifer Hartman is a Yuletide children's book based on the Scandinavian origins of the holiday. It is based on an ancient Norse goddess named Frau Holle who comes to the ground to check on the well being of children during the longest and coldest time of the year. If children are happy, healthy and festive she leaves a gift at their front door.
"This story was written for pagan families who didn't have stories to help their children feel as connected to the holiday season as their peers," Says Author, Jennifer Hartman, "There has been an overwhelming support from the community. I hope this nomination encourages more authors to write books of the same genre."
It is clear to see why Old Mother Frost is quickly becoming a new holiday favourite. A quick look online and you will find five star reviews across all platforms, including: Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Good Reads.
